16-Hour On-the-Job Training (OJT) Course for Security Officers

Overview:
This 16-hour training course is a mandatory requirement for security officers and must be completed within 90 days of employment. It is designed to provide in-depth instruction on the duties, responsibilities, and professional standards expected of a security officer in New York State.

Prerequisite:
Completion of the 8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course is required before enrolling in the OJT course.

• Roles and Responsibilities of a Security Officer
• Legal Powers and Limitations
• Emergency Situations and Procedures
• Communication and Public Relations
• Access Control and Patrol Procedures
• Professional Ethics and Conduct
• Incident Command System (ICS)
• Awareness of Terrorism and Counterterrorism Measures

Certification:

Upon successful completion of the course and passing the final examination, participants will receive a New York State 16-Hour OJT Training Certificate.
